48 Hours in La La Land

Last week, I took a spontaneous trip to Los Angeles to recharge myself. I bought my ticket using the money I would have spent on entering an awards competition — because right now experiences are more valuable to me than winning awards.

My first day was spent with my friend Eli Suzuki-Gill, who is a really talented photographer and musician. He’s super chill and we drove around LA, stopping by his hometown of Ventura and shooting at some Googie-inspired structures.

After the dayventure with Eli, I met up with my friends Martin and Katie in Disneyland. It was a freezing 40 degrees out, but I still had an awesome time. I took notes of places and things because I am returning back to Disneyland in two weeks to shoot Katie’s wedding!

My last day in Los Angeles was spent with my good friend Cedric. He recently moved back to California (via Hawaii) and it was so great to reconnect with him. He took me to Silverlake, a town swarming with hipsters and people I will probably be best friends with when I move to California.
